Justice or Bankers?

I'm so excited! Ol' Glen doesn't get many hits midweek. I think I'll try to think upon something, again tonight. The word vigilantism has been stuck in my mind but I really don't want to go there! I remember hearing that term from the old westerns that played everywhere when I was a youngin. My favorite western is Lonesome Dove. Tom Selleck, Clint Eastwood, Robert Duvall and Sam Elliott are my favorite actors in westerns.

We root for the hero to make things right! The injustices suffered at the hands of the regular, little people, need someone larger than life to rectify, the morally right thing, even though the town is run by the banker and corrupt evil entities. The Law as in lawyers and lawmen are bought and paid for by the money grubbing bankers in them old westerns

Gosh darn it, you mean they had this type of goings on, back then! Who would EVER of thought that!

(((Who stepped up for the farmers, ranchers and little people trying to survive?)))

Vigilante justice is the phrase stuck in my mind for as long as I can remember. In Lonesome Dove Captain Call give the orders to hang one of his own, former Texas ranger, because he was caught running with horse thieves. Damn! That be a tough act to carry out, but his men did! Tough men for a tough job!!! Was it ever like that? I grew up watching the T. V. show Gunsmoke. Wow, we cannot comprehend what it was like back then.

We're too soft today, to even imagine what early pioneers went through. We're taken care of aren't we?

We allow the law of the land to take care of us, so we can sleep every night snug as a bug in a rug!

Why we're civilized, no need for shoot em' ups like in the old west today. We have officers that take an oath to protect and serve. We have court systems at every level with judges protecting us, don't we?

Criminals are put in prisons and rehabilitated so when thry get out there an asset to society. They are reborn and all evilness has been drained out right?

There is no way corrupt money grubbing bankers could get away with anything like the old westerns portray is there?

The local government cannot be corrrupt, can they?

There is no way the State government could be tainted is there?

Of course not! The Federal government has checks and balences in place by the Constitution guaranting we the people to sleep like a baby in its mother's arms right?

VIGILANCE, THE QUALITY OR STATE OF BEING VIGILANT; "WATCHFULNESS!"

VIGILANT, STAYING WATCHFUL AND ALERT TO DANGER OR TROUBLE!

ARE THERE ANY MODERN DAY HEROES, THAT CAN SAVE US?????????????????????????

I REMEMBER A CARTOON GOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS "HERE HE IS TO SAVE THE DAY."   JUST AN OLD MAN THINKING BEFORE HE GOES TO BED, GOODNIGHT ALL!

  1. If only Glen......... unfortunately there is no one and the world is too big and the problems are too big and the corruption and evil are all too big. Good grief I am such a pessimist !

I remember that movie Lonesome Dove. When my brother would come visit us while on leave from the Marine Corp, he always made us have a Lonesome Dove marathon, watching the whole movie in one sitting ! How many parts was there? He and one of his Corp buddies thought seemed to imagine themselves as characters from that movie. I will have to ask him which ones because I don't quite remember. (there's that memory thing again !)

And that cartoon, I remember that line too, but can't remember the character who said it. But now that line is stuck in my head. I can hear it, just can't place who said it.
